I had some idle time and I have been eyeing my little white birdcage for a while. It was cute when I bought it but needed some touch up. Last weekend I was given a little book about felting and crocheting.  I haven't done any felting works really so first I will look at it as an inspiration.

It had an instruction to do a small felt nest/tent and a bird. We have a word here in Finland "Lintukoto" if I translate it it means bird home but it doesn't really mean actually that. It means a place that is small, cozy and safe place. A sort of happy place.

We are starting to have snow in here and woolly, cozy place would be nice. So here it is...in very small size :D The nest is just first try and it is hanging just with small bow. And I stitched the carpet all around to the mesh floor. The bird cage is about 12 centimeters in diameter.

So, somewhile ago I bought this table from IKEA. I knew that I was going to paint it mat black, because my bed is mat black and it was going to be my new bedsidetable. And because the table is made from metal, I needed a tablecloth to it. I haven't found suitable yet from store so I crochetted one.


Here is also another DIY version of IKEA table that I find quite nice.

So here I am. Back as promised. Just to warm up crocheting I made this bunny. I just browsed through raverly pages and pick this tutorial found in here. I made her out of cotton yarn and  size 3mm hook. She is about 10 cm tall.

One of my friends is a huuuuuuge Dr. Who fan so I made this Tardis inspired pouch to her new phone. Made out of merino wool, felt lining and button closing.

Nowdays I seem to be very fond of matryoshkas. So I did little googling and found this pattern, thank you very much Rebecca!

I left out two rows from neck and one (if I remember correctly) from the head. And added one back loop row three rows after the first one. I was going to add more, but forgot :D I was watching James Bond, From Russia With Love during the time (quite suited for the theme XD) Then face from felt and scarf decorations from two ribbons and apron from rosefabric. The doll is about 20 cm high.


I chose the colours because they were close to one we had at home (still is at my mothers) It doesn't have all it parts anymore and the biggest has a huge crack on it, but maybe it will have a new life someday. The doll is like the one in this pick at topleft corner. Pick from here.

I'm a person who has cold hands way too often. So I like wrist/hand warmers. Here's a pair that have a lacy look. I'm going to make a second pair with more sleeve.

I'm a huge steampunk fan, but I don't really know how to show it in everyday life. Maybe these are suitable for that mission :D

Nyt valmistui Emma akryylilangasta neulottu pipo ja virkattu huivi. Pipon ja sen koristeiden ohjeet löytyvät Puikoissa-kirjasta. Huivi on tehty salomonin solmuilla ja huivia varten selasin useita eri malleja. En tiedä lisäänkö vielä muutaman ruusun pipoon, mutta mennään nyt aluksi kolmella :D

Halusin söpöstellä ihan väkisin, joten virkkasin pienen muffinsikoristeisen pussukan, neuloin pehmomuffinsin sekä jokin aika sitten massaillessani nukkiskamaa tein muun mussa tuon pienen massamuffinsin, josta tulee kaulakoru.

Ohje tuohon neulottuun muffinsiin löytyy täältä. Sivusto vaatii rekisteröitymisen, mutta on ilmainen ja sieltä löytyy paljon ohjeita.

Nyt kyllä tuli kauhia repsahdus tämän blogin päivittämiseen :) Kaikkea on tekeillä, mutta aloitetut työt kummittelevat kaapin perällä ja hamuavat jatkoa.

Jotain on kuitenkin tullut tehtyä. Sain itselleni aikaiseksi pipon ja siihen suuren kukan koristeeksi. Malli täältä ja kukan ohje kirjasta Virkkauksen ilo, Frida Pontén.

Lankana on Novitan Fiesta, jonka pinkki versio loppui valitettavasti kesken, sillä yhteenkuuluva kaulaliina on siitä tulossa. Eli jatkoa seuraa!

Tänä vuonna äiti mainitsi joululahjatoiveiksi uusia pannulappuja ja neulatyynyn. No jouluksi keksin jotain muuta kylläkin, mutta näin synttärilahjaksi virkkasin kaksi pannulappua ja neulatyynyn. Lisäksi kyllä ostinkin tavaraa, mutta nehän nyt eivät tänne kuulu :D

Tällä viikolla oli hyvän ystävän syntymäpäivä ja hänelle virkkasin pipon. Malli on Novitan sivuilta täältä, tosin ei tarkasti, koska joissain kohdissa ei minun mielestäni vain ollut järkeä. Lankana Novita Fiesta ja puikko nro 6.

Siitä tuli ihana! Ja näytti uuden omistajansa päässä hyvin suloiselta ^^ voipi olla että itsellekin virkkaan samalla mallilla.

Ja lempi elokuviani on Totoro, sillä se tuo aina hyvän mielen. Erityisesti pienin metsänhenki on über suloinen! Joten virkkasin sen. Siitä tuli noin 2 cm korkea ja liitin sen päähän sellaisen mustan kännykkäkorunarulenkin. Silmät leikkaisn paperista, lakkasin ja liimasin paikoilleen.

Tahdoin virkata asusteiksi kukkasia ja etsin sopivaa ohjetta netistä. Löysinkin, kuten kuvasta näkyy, mutta olenko sittemmin sen linkin hukannut...totta kai. Hyvin tavanomaista minulle. Siivoan kirjanmerkit huolimattomasti. Jos joku tunnistaa tavan niin hihkaiskaa. Tästä meni osa yhdelle ystävälle. Muutama omaan käyttöön, ja loput varastoon.

Tämä kolikkokukkaro sai alkunsa täältä. Ja tässä on minun tulkintani. Vetskari uupuu ja tahdon vihreän rusetin takatukkaan ettei takaraivo ole tylsän oranssi. Hieman isompi kuin alkuperäinen, sillä tällä kokoa on 13,5 cm x 10 cm
