Where Happy Lives

Last week I drew a feather from pic I found from internet. done with few pencils and coloured pencils.

First of the unfinished crafts is now done. Purple woolly cap. I didn't get a decent pic of it in my head XD So its on a pillow.

Due to the fact that I don't really draw anymore I thought that I should correct this issue. I decided to draw/paint/whatever one postcard size picture each week to get myself on the rail again. Maybe after a year some of the pictures in the pile are wall hung worthy.

Week 1.

Time run away from me this year so quickly. I graduated, I fell in love, I got a job (not in a field what I studied tho), planned future and got my heart broken. Still more positive in a year than negative.

Again I find myself planning my future and life. For the past year I wanted to blog more about my life and stuff, but never got up for it. And also it seems very difficult to dig camera from bag and take a picture of what I'm doing.

So...Next year I will blog more and take more pictures.

I could start listing some hopes and dreams for new year.

I want to move to a different city. I have wanted to live in Tampere since I was 17 years old. But I will not just randomly move to there. I want to get a new job so I don't have to stress about money when I move.

I want to learn about photographing. So I thought I get some books about it from library for starts and then I ask some tips from a friend who has some skills in that department :)

I would like to find a new hobby. In best scenario I would move before summer and perhaps find courage to take apart in some amateur theater. Lets see how that will end up XD

And I will personalize the blogs layout, but that will not happen in a hurry because I tend to loose my temper when trying to create a blog layout.

Oh and because I'm now an interior designer I could do some interior posts time to time. I finally figured out what kind of interior style I am really fond of so I will try to change my home to match my dreams. If you are a tumblr user you can find my blog in here.

I had some idle time and I have been eyeing my little white birdcage for a while. It was cute when I bought it but needed some touch up. Last weekend I was given a little book about felting and crocheting.  I haven't done any felting works really so first I will look at it as an inspiration.

It had an instruction to do a small felt nest/tent and a bird. We have a word here in Finland "Lintukoto" if I translate it it means bird home but it doesn't really mean actually that. It means a place that is small, cozy and safe place. A sort of happy place.

We are starting to have snow in here and woolly, cozy place would be nice. So here it is...in very small size :D The nest is just first try and it is hanging just with small bow. And I stitched the carpet all around to the mesh floor. The bird cage is about 12 centimeters in diameter.

A friend of mine Satu asked a long time ago if I could make her a pouch for her external hard drive. I had just then bought napkins from drift store and I knew it was the right fabric to her. But I was still living a slow time at creativity so the pouch was left at shelf to wait for a better moment.

Satu's birthday was at this month so I finally got a grip of myself and made the pouch ready. Little bit linen sash and some lace and it was finished. It has a thin wadding inside so the hard drive will stay safe in a bag.

Another sad gingerbread house made by me :D I said last year that I should do these more than once a year to be better but naah. Anywhooo this is The Tardis from Doctor Who...or it tries to be XD


I did it few days ago and put off posting it 'cos I wanted to fix it but lazyness took the better of me. And lets face it. More icing doen't fix he problem. But I can garantee that I will have a blast eating it after Christmas.

And ofcourse yesterday was the 20th :D Today I share some lovely christmas houses of small sort ;)

Oooh the Internet how I love you!! I didn't have access to internet for few days and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to blog this year but *happy dance* everything is fine now.

Here are some cute garlands to put around your house. I got my christmas tree decorated yesterday and it has just red bead garland on it but these need to be made someday.

So....woopsie... I had two days of and visited my family aaand then got lazy :D Well here's a splash of Christmas stockings for you. I love the idea of stockings even though they are not part of our christmas here in Finland. I was going to sew one for me this year but the fabric choices here suck! So I'm putting on my thinking hat and getting some new inspirations :D

Today was heavily snowing here at my hometown. Aparently the edge of a storm that is at our coastal line. If you step outside you will end up as snowman :D Horible I say! I had to cyckle home from work. *Brrrrh*

I saw this idea in one home magazine and thought that it would be nice here at my place since I live alone and it is nice to have some sounds at home.

Tree decoration found from Pinterest, original source didn't lead to anywhere unfortunatelly.

Two years ago I bought this treetop ornament because you just can't find beautiful treetop star anywhere. And also because I don't think it's nesessary to have a star (or angel) on your christmas tree.

I didn't have the chance to use it last christmas and I forgot about it so I bought another one from sale. And suprisingly I managed to buy one in the same colour. So this year my christmas is red and white and I just sprayed the other first white on the bottom and then red (very red).

Today I attached few cardboard stars and one sisal star to my entry "hall" :D I have this ugly 6 piece mirror on the wall and maybe the stars make it a little more tolerable :) I have other plans to entryway also witch you will see later on.


Here is my inspiration that I found from Pinterest. I was originally going to make those double sided stars but I became really anoyed when pieces didn't fit together so I gave them a new meaning. XD
